Pottermore Revealed! (Well, almost…)

Finally! We know what J.K. Rowling’s mysterious Pottermore website is all about! Well, we sort of do. After much anticipation, Rowling finally made the big announcement today that the Pottermore website that has previously been shrouded in mystery will be available in October to the millions & millions of Harry Potter fans around the world. So what exactly is Pottermore? It is something that the readers of the Magical World of Harry Potter will absolutely love–an interactive reading website and the only place to buy audio books & eBooks of the series. Personally, I’m quite excited. In the video posted on the site, Rowling basically states that this will be an entirely new way to experience the magical world with new things added that we didn’t read in the books. She promises that even more will be revealed about the world of Harry Potter–things that she herself has kept close to her and never revealed. As an avid HP fan, I’m really looking forward to this new site! I think that this will be something that will have the true Harry Potter fans excited and eager to continue into the magical world of witches & wizards for many years to come. An interactive reading website opens up doors that paper books cannot, honestly. It will also give the chance for Rowling herself to interact with fans and even (hopefully) create a little back story, new characters, “deleted book scenes,” and so much more. Rowling is still making sure that the site itself and what it will really be is still kept under wraps for now with a note to the side asking fans to return on July 31st to find out more. I can’t wait! Thanks to Ms. Rowling for letting the magic of Harry Potter continue!
